It was meant to be...for you to have found the cat in your yard. Also for a rescue group to have room for her until a perm home is found. Lucky kitty!!! donna

Thank you for saying such nice things - it makes me feel a little better. I *really* am heartbroken over not being able to keep her.

Yes, Cat, they told me I could e-mail them again on Wednesday to see how she's doing. I've told them I would keep them in mind for future donations, so I'm sure they wont mind hearing from me. When I went to write a check, I asked her how much it would cost to take care of her - she told me it was completely up to me how much I wanted to give. I felt that $100 was a small price to pay to show my love for that sweet little kitty. The woman told me that was much more than it would cost and was very happy to receive the check.

I'm not rich by any means, but I'm not poor either. To me, I'd rather give up something that would cost me $100 and give it to a cat(s) in need. Money *can* sometimes buy happiness - and it made me happy to help out - and I'm sure it will make the kitty happy too. Oh, she was such a sweetheart!!!

Update! The sweet little orange girl kitty has been adopted! While this makes me extremely happy, I still wish I could have kept her.

Thank you all for your wishes and prayers for her. I am sure the little furgal has a kind and loving home! :)

Oops, I forgot to mention - she wasn't pregnant! She had been spayed already - but the first vet didn't shave her belly to check - because I told them if she was pregnant, why bother to look if she was spayed. The rescue group didn't think she was pregnant and checked her for surgical scars - which she had.

With the amount of food this kitty ate the night before I took her to the vets, I think she was kind of pot bellied the next morning. I am glad she wasn't pregnant - because it was easier on her - and there weren't kittens to put up for adoption.

That's good in a way that she isn't pregnant and she can spend lots of time getting herself pampered by her new family.
