HELP!! MY CAT IS GOING EVERYWHERE!

My adorable OUTDOOR cat has begun urinating and defecating all over my home in the last 6 months. She is 8 yrs. old has up to date vaccinations, is spade, and NEVER had this problem before!! At first it was just defecating (pooping). When she did this, we knew it was coming as she would get this horrified look on her face and start running madly all over the house. It wasn't as if it were a deliberate squat and poop situation. As she was running the poop would just fall where ever she ran. We took her to the vet who suggested Kitty Prozac. We used the Prozac for a month as the vet suggested. She did stop, and went back to doing her business outside all summer long!!! We went 3 months poop free!!! However, just in the past 2 weeks it has started all over again, EXCEPT this time urination has joined the party!!! Now we have urinating as well as pooping AND she is now actually squatting when she does it. For instance, she was asleep on top of the couch the other day and I happened to look around at her and a puddle of urine started to drip down the couch where she was laying. She jumped from her sleep and started her mad run through the house, pooping as she went. The vet says he can find nothing physically wrong with her. We are at our wits end as you can well imagine! She could urinate throughout the house while we are not here and unless I step in a puddle, I may not find it but the smell is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBE so you know that it's somewhere!!! Nothing in her routine or feeding habits have changed. Oh, and after she does this, she sits down and pulls her own fur out as if to punish herself and then goes outside and doesn't come home for 2 days at a time!!!! HELP!!! We don't know what else to do to help her and our home is starting to smell like a litter box that hasn't been changed in a year!!!!!!

I would for sure have her checked another time as this must be a illness or something. Can you keep her in? I hate to hear of cats going out as so dangerous! Let us know what you find out! cat woman is a vet tech and always has good advice!

Thanks for the advice catwoman. I will take her to the vet again and ask for those tests. The only thing I am still confused about is how and why she starts and stops this. She can go for 3 months without doing it, and then it starts all over again.

Thank you for the warm welcome!
