Tell us how you came to name your cat.

Our cat Hardy was born under our shed along with his sister, Laurel.

Fun question!

This could go on forever, since I've had a lot of cats, but I'll just mention the ones that have lived w/Paul & I, & not the ones that I had when I was growing up.

Foxfire Spice (always called Spice) was his name from kitten hood, & I didn't adopt him until he was 6, so I kept it.

Amelia Skye (usually called Mia) was named because I had a cat growing up who passed away about a year before I got Mia who was named Adam Stretch (always called Stretch.) So, I wanted her to have the same initials to be named after him. I got out a baby name book, & picked the 'A' name that fit her best, & Skye just sounded pretty as a middle name. When I got her she was 8 weeks old, & teeny tiny, so Amelia seemed to big for her. That's why she's usually called Mia (although responds to both!)

Samuel August (my little angel who died of FIP last month) was sort of named after Spice. The 'S' part was, although once I met Samuel, I was more concerned w/picking a name that fit him, & it just happened to start w/an 'S'. His middle name is August, because our last name starts w/an 'M', & I liked his initials being SAM, although he was always called Samuel.

Gabriel came into my life at a time when I needed him as much or more than he needed me. It was a very dark time in my life as my Mom was dying of lung cancer that has metasized to her brain

Zoe was named after my favorite cousin Zoann~both Katrina and Elisabeth aka: Little Kitty came to us with their names (Zoe came from the Tacoma/Pierce country pound, Kata from a rescue group that we still belong to, and LK was from a rescue group that was at Pet smart, but to adopt her I had to go thru the King country Animal control)

Zoe is no longer with us. I had her over 12 years. The 3 photos I've attached are Zoe, then Katrina & LK. We have had Kata since '07 and LK '08 (Little kitty was only 6 months old when I brought her home and she so much smaller then the other 2, so dh started calling her Little Kitty and it stuck to her) she really doesn't answer to Elisabeth or Lizzie (that what they called her. She is no longer little kitty, she is much bigger then either of her sisters. But she will always be Little Kitty

~~Sam stitches well with others, runs with scissors in her pocket. Cheerful and stupid.

It was pretty obvious from the start that Gabby was going to be Gabby. I came home from work one evening and it was still dark. I heard this pitiful meowing coming from my front porch. Gabby meowed constantly until I let her in the house and she still meows when she wants something or when she's happy- pretty much constantly. She's a gabby girl.

Chloe (momma cat) looks a lot like Gabby.

I know there are probably a lot of chatty cats but I personally don't know many besides Gabby. I thought it would annoy me but I kind of like it. I'm sure you've already mentioned it, but are Chloe's babies short hair tabbies? Or are they a variety of colors and fur lengths?
