...a new kitty.
To reiterate, I lost my almost 12 year old kitty, Spice, last summer to kidney failure. We waited almost 6 months to get Mia a new friend, because I felt horrible thinking that I was replacing Spice. We wanted someone who was completely non-aggressive towards Mia, because we didn't want her to feel threatened. We adopted Samuel, & he was perfect in every way. We only had him for four months, until we lost him to FIP.
I wasn't planning on getting a new cat ever, or at least for a very long time. The main reason that I want one is because I hate leaving Mia home alone when we leave. It's so much nicer if she has a friend to hang out with.
Well, my mom volunteers at Petsmart with the cat adoptions, so I went there the other day just to play with kitties, & completely fell in love with one named Squeaky. He was so sweet & laid back, & he's 3 years old too. I've heard that cats between 3 & 10 are very unlikely to get the mutated virus of FIP, & if they live in a shelter, they probably already have the non-mutated version anyway.
Well, I just don't know how to know if I'm ready to adopt him or anyone yet. I just feel like I'm going to regret it if somebody else snatches him up.
Thanks for reading so much! Thoughts?
