She had only been there since June 2 and had gotten spayed on June 4. They couldn't tell me what had become of her kittens. I was told it's stressful coming there for cats & she may have lost them. I wish someone knew for sure. Maybe she had them prior to being given up by her previous owners. I have paid for her and have her papers, but I had to leave her with them until tomorrow after work since I had to come home and get a bedroom all ready for her and I needed to buy supplies/toys/etc. I will keep her in her own room for awhile until I can gradually introduce her to my other 3 cats. They said I should be careful of her sutures from her surgery until June 14. I am still pondering a different name for her. She's a black tortie...so Salty doesn't make a lot of sense to me. She doesn't seem to respond much to that name, either. Any suggestions?
Her photo was just posted on the Humane Society website....I'm glad I got her before someone else did. It's not the best photo they could have taken....you can see her shaved fur from the surgery a bit and she looks sooo skinny. But she's still my beautiful little girl! I don't know how long she'll be on this site, but here is where her photo was as of tonight:

I also copied the photo into my webiste:

I will post a new photo of her once she's home tomorrow night.
Thank you everyone again for all your support & encouragement in helping me to follow my heart and adopt my Salty! I'm soooo excited! :-)
Hugs,
Suzy

I am slowly answering posts as my Salty gives me a few minutes to check here....I'll answer the rest tomorrow.
I am glad she has an appetite so she can get to a healthy weight hopefully. I'll see what the vet says. Poor thing has been sneezing a bit today....might be something from the Humane Society. She should be fine, though.
I hope I find a nice name soon....so I can let our vet know Monday.
Give Tasha a hug for me!

Have a great weekend!

Yes she does, doesn't she? Looks like a Siamese crossed with a Manx perhaps (to explain the stubby tail) LOL I am so happy I adopted her! :-)

On the paperwork the former owner filled out she listed the name as Salty. Strange that she doesn't respond to it, though. I will look up cat names this weekend and try to pick out a nice one. I'll ask here for everyone's feedback, too. I'll check out some "S" names too.
I'll try to post more photos this weekend.
Good Night!

I love your story about Tails! How cute! I bet your 3 Calicos are adorable!! (And lucky your found them) :-)
I love having such a special connection with Salty, too. She definitely got my attention there at the shelter. I couldn't forget about her.
Hugs,
Suzy
