I was going to post this ?? earlierEllie makes a cry meow whenever you pick her up. She was all checked by the vet and runs all over like crazy. I wonder if she is just very vocal and this is a kitty thing?

Don't feel bad. The cat's don't take this stuff seriously--at least mine don't. Sometimes Napoleon, my older male cat, will pout a bit if I step on him or kick him accidentally, but I love him up a little and it's as if it never happened. If she started playing immediately, she's not hurt.

It's so hard to describe cat problems over the internet, isn't it? How to describe a meow? Then again it can be embarrassing to imitate the meow in person. (lol) There are so many different ones and so many meanings. When you pick her up does she cuddle or struggle? As long as there is no other sign that there is something wrong, it's probably Ellie's "yay, I'm loved" meow.

Isin't it horrible when we accidentally hurt our pets? I've done this more than once. I remember one occasion, I was about 12 or so... I was just going out to go to school, and my cat ran to get out the door. I only had it open a few inches, so I pulled it shut before he reached it - but he was quicker than I thought, and his paw got caught in the door! He made this awful cry, and I immediately burst into tears. I cradled him up into my arms, and he just lay there on his back looking at me with his paw stuck in the air, meowing over and over, while I just bawled my eyes out. I'll never forget it. My mom told me to get going to school, and said that she'd watch him and see if he needed to go to the vet. When I came home from school, he was perfectly normal - thank goodness nothing was broken. But that incident has stuck with me my whole life!

I know it always makes you feel terrible when you step on one of the furkids, especially when they scream so.

That is so awful when they get caught in the door and then you have to worry all day. I guess they do have 9 lives!!!

I've caught mine in the door a couple of times. And it's the kitchen door, which has to be slammed in the summer due to humidity. Poor things!

My friend has had 2 terrible incidents over the years. Once, her cat was sitting on a windowsill & the window slammed down by itself. She was caught & screamed like a banshee. Another time, a different cat got caught in her swinging inner kitchen door. As she tried to release him, he was in terror mode & bit & scratched her badly. She had to go to the emergency room & get fixed up & get a tetanus shot. She at first thought all the blood was his, but it was hers.
