Hi. My name is Brittnnie, and I'm a cat lover. When I lived with my parents, we had a total of 18 cats at one time. Right before I moved out of my parents, my now husband and I adopted a cat together. We were in the pet shop and we absolutely fell in love with her. We've had her for about a year now. The pet shop believed that she was about 2 years old when we adopted her. She has always been such a wonderful cat. If she couldn't get to the litter box (because the bathroom door was shut, or someone was taking a shower) she would come to us and cry to let us know that she needed to use the litter box. She is fixed, and is declawed.
My husband and I have lived in our apartment for about 8 months or so, and she has been great. She's adapted very well, and was still a great cat. During these 8 months, we've had a couple of other cats. The first cat we got, we got him as a kitten. He was so cute, but no matter what we did he would not use the litter box. My mom adopted his brother, so my husband and I decided to let my mom keep him for awhile, to be with his brother. He used her litter box perfectly. During the time he was away, we got another kitten. It wouldn't use the litter box either! We kept trying, but then one day the kitten ran away.. and we never found her. :( Then my mom let us have the first cat back, because she and her boyfriend fought over him. When he got back, he still would not use the litter box, so my mom gave him to a friend of hers. (And he's been the best cat ever. No problems) Our first cat we adopted before we even moved out (Her name's Baby) has been great throughout these months. After we gave Casper away for the second time, Baby started using the bathroom on the floor. Sometimes she will have a bowel movement right in the middle of the bathroom floor! The night before last she did it RIGHT next to the litter box and last night she did it right in front of the bathroom door.
I don't know why she all of a sudden started using the restroom on the floor, and I don't know what to do to make her stop. I haven't moved the litter box, and I've kept it clean. I'm just so frustrated because I love her so much, and I don't want to have to get rid of her too. I have a 5 1/2 month old daughter, and I can't have the cat making messes on the floor. What should I do?
P.S. Sorry this post is so long. :p
