Introducing new kitty to "old" kitty

I posted this on the indoor-cats only board but thought you guys may be able to help too!

I am picking up my second kitty (Gus Gus) on Friday evening and bringing him home. What would the best way to introduce him to my current kitty (Roscoe)? They are brothers but I only took one at a time--I should have taken them both at the same time. I am going to do the usual introduce Gus Gus to the new home by having all of his stuff in one room and then let him explore as he feels comfortable. Is there anything I should consider about Roscoe once Gus Gus is there? I will be sure to play and cuddle with him to show that I still love him even though there's a new kitty. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi. I guess it will depend on how they get along. Maybe being brothers will help. It sounds like you have a good plan, making sure the first cat still feels very loved and special to you. If there are a lot of tiffs, you may want to consider keeping them in separate rooms at first, and slowly having them spend more and more time together each day.

Good luck with it!

How long since they have seen each other? Just go slow and I am sure they will be fine, you will be able to tell.
