Got my first foster group on Saturday. Mom is an orange tabby and is not too happy about being caught. Not sure if she is truly feral or being protective or what. So far she is taking good care of the kittens and that is the big issue. So long as she keeps that up and doesn't go after me or any of the permanent residents, it is all good. The lady who caught her had been trying for a while and had agreed to take her back once she is spayed and ear-tipped if it turns out she is wild. Luckily she has just hissed at me and tried to get away. However, I don't want to take the kittens away until at least 5 weeks old and I don't know how well she will tolerate being locked up that long.
The kittens are cuties - 2 torties (I didn't check but presume they are girls) and one orange tabby boy. They were born Saturday morning so I know how old they are. And imagine my surprise when I checked on them this morning and one of the girls blinked at me. (eyes don't normally open for at least 10 days) We may have an over acheiver. :)
I will keep you posted on their progress and try to get a picture up.
