Just returned from 10 days in Paris

Good afternoon all! I just returned last night around midnight (EST) from Paris and had a friend who has in the past taken care of my two cats if i ever go away (she comes to my cottage and feeds them once a day and sits with them for an hour or so to make sure they get a little human attention. Now, i haven't been away on an "extended vacation" (more than two nights, that is)in almost 5 years. My youngest is five and my oldest (neediest, most neurotic and extremely attached - I can not be out of his sight anywhere in my home) and he is 7 years old and as per usual upon my return last night, my oldest was obviously hurt and angry at me for not being around. So I let him be but gave him some loving (as well as my little one, who adjusts immediately). I crawled into bed fairly quickly and wet right to sleep. Was awakened in the a.m. by the little one constantly sweeping and scraping at my down comforter and duvet cover,I pushed him away but he kept coming back and when i put my hand down I felt dried feces and upon getting up one of the cats(tholder one by their size, as my younger one is quite small comparatively)had defecated all over my comforter and appeared to have the runs on top of it. My question is... could this behavior be due to my not being around for 10 days and a way to "get back at me"???? I plan on taking more vacations and really don't want to deal with it every time. One last question, how do i get this out (i don't have children and liked to think it's not something i typically have to deal with (LOL); how can i get this out at a laundromat without staining - the cover is white cotton....do you know - or anyone - know what i can purchase to prevent permanent staining. Please advise! Thanks so much!

Hi Mag908.
Thanks so much for your input. I know it's not medical, he's just neurotic and as far as me finding a way back home...I could have thought of much more pleasant methods!!! And since I've come back that i can't even sit or lay down without becoming their pillows! They are both all over me, my littlest one never was much of a lap kitty and now he nuzzles into my chest and arms and my older (neurotic) one burrows into me at any chance he gets and gets jealous and meows over and over if i either watch television or try to read!!! Good grief!!! And I used to believe that cats were aloof!!! Not mine!
Thanks again!
