Kissing your kitties

Do you think that when we kiss our kitties, they know that it's a gesture of affection? Some cats don't like to be kissed. Clyde didn't like to be kissed, even though he was a very affectionate cat. Daisy doesn't mind it at all, & even Miss Moxie, who isn't very affectionate, doesn't mind much when I kiss her. What do you think?
BTW, I recently added a pic of Moxie to my avatar, though it's not a very good pic.

Hmmm, that's a good question.
I think some cats do know it's a sign of affection - for instance - ^Pudd^ would always headbutt me after I kissed him just about every single time and Timmy does face rubbings on me when I kiss him.
I don't know. I kiss Bad Annie all the time, and she likes it. But then, she is a cuddle kitty, and likes all kinds of affection. Chalimar, however, doesn't want my face near her. (I kiss her anyways...I am, after all, the kitty-mommy.) But Chal likes to be touched or petted on her own terms, as it is. Of my mom's 2 cats (who are really my cat and my brother's cat, but they didn't go with us when we each moved out)....neither of her cats wants kissed, either. The one, Sascha, you can pick her up and cuddle her all you want, just don't put your face near hers.
