hi-
we had always used scoop away litter before and the cattery we got bogart from used that as well.

but i am finding it is so dusty that my dh and i are constantly sneezing- i thought we were maybe allergic to bogart even though we had cats before and were fine, but now i am wondering if maybe it is the litter.

can anyone recommend a scoopable litter that is not so dusty?

thanks
alison

I've heard Arm & Hammer is pretty good although I've never used it myself.

I use the Arm and Hammer Easy Scoop and I like it fine... there is minimal dust.

have you ever tried Feline Pine? While it isnt technically scoopable, it is easy to scoop out. Best thing is...itis flushable! No more taking a stinky bag of cat crap out to the trash. And it doesnt smell AT ALL! You'd never know I had a litter box in my bathroom. Plus it is biodegradable and all natural..you can even spread it outside as mulch. And no dust at all.

I used to use Ever Fresh and it was really good for dust and hard clumping, but it did track more than others.

I rather like Wal-Mart's brand actually, but depending on the bottle, it can be dusty. I didn't like A&H's brand, I didn't like the smell of it personally. Tidy Cat is also good, but to me, it's the exact same as Wal-Mart's brand, so why pay 2x as much for a name brand? Also, our Sam's Club here usually has their blend of clumping litter - all it is is busted boxes mixed together and repackaged. Dirt cheap and works pretty well, but sometimes it's got a strong odor. I just never go to Sam's Club, otherwise I'd buy that more often.

Crystals are AWFUL if you have a cat who pees a lot or a cat who weighs in at more than 10 lbs. With the first, the crystals get very gooey and sticky and make an ever loving disgusting mess. With the second, the first time the cat sits on the edge of the box or hits it, the pan goes flying since the litter is too lightweight making an ever loving disgusting mess. Also, it's silica gel - the same thing in the dissecant packages that are in shoes that say not to eat. I'm not real comfortable using the crystals now that I thought about it. We used them for under 24 hours and had both of the first two messes.

We use Dr. Elseys Precious Cat Ultra unscented as I wanted low dust and low tracking and it seems to work very well. I used Worlds Best Cat Litter for a long time but it tracked terribly and smelled like grain(which it is since it's corn).
