Misha snuggling her adopted kitten....

Here's Misha tonight snuggling her "baby" (dh calls her "Meezer" temporarily until we pick a name for her). Misha was lethargic today from her reaction to yesterdays vaccine.....I am hoping that will wear off soon.
The kitten worried me to death today when she squeezed into the narrow slit to the side of the dishwasher and wouldn't come out. I panicked when I didn't know how to get her out....I finally tried waving a dangly toy in front of the dishwasher and she squeezed herself back out! I have since put a piece of cardboard over that spot so she won't scare me again! Kittens sure can get themselves into crazy places! LOL

Poor Meezer - but like everyone said, kittens get over minor stumbles pretty quickly! My old roommate's kitten was racing around the apartment once, and suddenly ran into the side of the end table, head first. I actually saw it happen, and heard this horrible "THUNK!!" I thought she'd have a concussion, or worse, for sure. But she stumbled, gave herself a shake, and started right back running full tear. She was perfectly fine!

Thanks, Misha is now a healthy 8 lb. :-) I am relieved to hear it's normal for kittens to be clumsy and run into things. LOL She seems ok today. That "Thunk" noise sure sounds awful, though!
How's sweet Tasha?

I don't know if she's just really happy we're back, or if it's because the weather has cooled off and she doesn't mind being more cuddly. LOL!

Misha got the second of her leukemia vaccines. My vet told dh today when he took Thomie in for her shots (he did not have her get the leukemia one this time) that cats, like children, can have such lethargy, etc. after a vaccine, and that she should be fine. It still bothered me. Misha is nearly back to normal. I still feel guilty. The vet told dh that it should be fine if we decide to no longer give our cats the leukemia shots, but in the rare case that the cat is a carrier, and has the virus in her bone marrow which is undetectable (lying dormant) , then the other cats could catch it and die. (She said she's had only one case of this in 10 years). I just hate giving unnecessary vaccinations, so I think I'll risk it (no longer getting them vaccinated for FELV) since all our cats stay indoors and they all tested negative for FELV. I hope I'm doing the right thing. Patches goes in for her annual shots this Friday.
How's that adorable Daisy?
