Than you so much Cat. I love that I can find such wonderful support here about any of my furbabies. :-) I called the vet hospital my cats' vet recommended today. They said they see the most small animals (e.g., chinchillas) in town. I have an appt tomorrow evening with the owner of the animal clinic and she has lots of experience. I want a second opinion and just want to see what she thinks can be done for him. I don't want to just sit & wait a month like the other vet had told me to do last Saturday. I know a fellow College employee who takes his ferrets there and swears they are the best & most knowledgeable he's ever known. Thanks for your prayers....I hope I get better news on his prognosis tomorrow!
The chin Spaz you mentioned must have been adorable! They all have such unique personalities. :-)
Hi Chris! It was very interesting seeing the Pres. yesterday. It is so much more exciting seeing someone that important in person rather than just on t.v. I doubt I'll get another opportunity to see a Pres. anytime soon in my lifetime.
Little Gandalf is doing a bit better. He sure loves to eat the green bean babyfood. LOL He's been eating the pellets I moisten with water, but not many of the regular hard ones. I cut up a raisin & a small half peanut for him as a snack and he eats the pieces right out of my hand, one by one! I wish he'd drink more water. I am looking forward to his vet visit tomorrow with a more experienced (highly recommended) vet. I wanted a second opinion because I want him to have any opportunity possible to improve the quality & length of his life. Wish him luck! I'll keep you posted.
I've been to numerous cat shows in my life, but never a chinchilla show. There's going to be one on Nov 13 here and I'm going to try to learn more about their care and to buy my babies the best & safest exercise wheel I can find.
You're right....he was named after Lord of the Rings. He is "Gandalf the Grey!" :-)
