Easter was good. We ate at my brother's. My SIL is not a terrific cook, so I never overdo at her house. LOL.

Moxie & Daisy are wishing it would stop raining. There's not as much interesting stuff to watch out the windows when it rains!

Bridgett here at work. Sorry to hear your are feeling icky! Its icky to feel icky.

We had a bizarre weekend. It snowed Saturday and was so cold I had to use the down jacket. Yesterday was warm enough for shorts and short sleeve shirts!!! This is the wierdest weather I have ever seen in New Mexico and I have lived here all my life. The cats, of course, don't notice because they are living in a temperature controlled environment.

Have a good week!

Noelle here...just on vacation today. Annie and Chalimar are enjoying the fact that Mommy stayed home today and slept until noon. Lots of kitty cuddle time!

Spent Easter at my parents' house. I spent most of the afternoon curled up on the couch, fighting a killer sinus headache. However, that pleased my mom's 2 cats, because they took turns napping on me. Since I was also freezing, I welcomed the kitty love. (When there's lots of people in the house and cooking is going on, my dad opens a window to "cool it down." Instead, it froze me out!)

We haven't celebrated Easter in years, and so weren't planning to this year. However, at the spur of the moment we decided to have an impromptu holiday meal: slices of ham we had in the freezer, potatoes, and asparagus. We even happened to have one of those instant cheesecake mixes in the pantry, so we added dessert to the mix. Amazing we actually had the stuff on hand. Last night for a lark I boiled a dozen eggs (an unlooked for extravagance; this is the first Easter that eggs have been on sale at a decent price in about three or four years!) and dyed them. I'm REALLY good at mixing colours, so double dipping produced all kinds of interesting shades and patterns. My favourite is blue with pink polka-dots, but the dark purple is lovely, too. In honour of Tegan I made a "flame-point" egg -- mostly white but with areas dipped in yellow and red to make flame points like hers. She won't touch eggs, but she loves flame-point ANYTHING.

Simon got to go garage sale-ing with us on Saturday and had a fantastically exciting time. He doesn't much like the soft carrier because it's claustrophobic, but he rode along for once because he wanted to go so badly. I carried the bag over my shoulder and he looked at all the stuff on sale, and basked in the attention he got from strangers. He was SUCH a happy boy!

Obviously you're just getting some of our Texas weather, Bridgett. We had exactly the same scenario: miserably cold and wet Saturday (even a little snow), warm and clear yesterday, and hot today. It's very typical weather here, so I guess it just migrated westward for you! Do you live in eastern NM or the over the mountains in the west? I only live about a hundred miles or so from the state line, and it's amazing how different the weather can be.

Penelope,

I live on the west side of the mountains but in the foothills. It is strange how the weather is so different just over the mountains. The other side of the mountain got feet of snow this year. This side we had a few good storms and alot of rain but that is it. Amazing what a difference a few miles and a mountain range can make.

Where do you live in TX? I have family that lives in Amarillo.
