I am so sorry you are going through this over and over. Was your friends cat old? Was she sickly? I have lost 5 in the last two years. The last was in July. Its very hard to deal with. Donna
Their cat was only about 5 or 6. It sounds a lot like poison to me, but the cat is indoor only and Mark says there is no poison anywhere she could have gotten to it. Still, it just sounds a lot like antifreeze or rat poison. :( No matter what happened it is so sad. This year I have watched so many people lose their furfriends, and it hurts each and everytime (which is why my visiting of this and other cat boards have dropped a lot since May). *sigh*
A friends inside cat caught a mouse that had poison in it, the cat nearly died from it. Luckily the vets actually diagnosed the poisoning and saved the cat. Donna
I can't believe how many we have all lost this year.It is so sad. Send my thoughts to them and tell them there are many of us that understand this grief.
Oh, no. What a terrible thing to happen. You're right -- this has been a really, really horrible year. It's been nearly three months since I lost my two favourites (Kat, the love of my life, to FIP, and her older sister Lois just thirteen days later from stress-induced illness she was too grief-stricken to fight).
I wonder if your friend's cat might have had undiagnosed heart problems -- I think I remember reading something about how that can cause the lungs to fill with fluid. Either way, I'm sure your friends, like the rest of us, can't wait for this hellish year to end. Hopefully 2005 will be better for all.
I'm lighting my candle for your friend's furangel. I'm so sorry they lost her so young. I am glad she spent her last hours with them, though. That must have been heartbreaking. :-( You're right....there have been far too many and you always lose a little part of your heart when they're gone.
Hugs to you for the 6 month anniversary of Electra & Copycat's wing dates.
