I am currently fostering a mother cat and her 3 kittens. Not sure on the ages of the kittens but they have started to eat solid food. About a month ago all three babies got ringworm. The mother cat still hasn't shown any symptoms so she probably isn't getting it. The babies are looking much better and it seems the medicine i have is working great but it hasn't gone away completely yet. I had to quarantine all of them so they wouldn't spread it to my cats so they are in a large crate. The mother is getting very very restless and I don't blame her because she's been stuck in there for a while. I have some medicated antifungal shampoo that I had been using on the babies to help with the ringworm and I was wondering if I used that on the mother would that kill all the spores on her fur. I know that even though she isn't showing any signs of having it she can still be carrying around those spores since she is in such close contact with her babies. I would like to take her out of the crate to let her get exercise so she isn't going crazy but i don't want to do it if there is still a possibility of her spreading it even with using the shampoo. I asked my local vet and they said it would "probably" work. I don't want to take any chances so i was hoping someone here has some experience with this.
