Boy that is a hard one,it is almost like they were stealing him! I would for sure keep him in and maybe a call to the police would not hurt!

Wow!!! What a story! Its good they took your kitty in although it sounds like they were never going to hunt his real home or return him, since they had to have seen the flyers. I had a husky stolen, she was gone three weeks, had a collar and tags on. Put on flyer $100. reward, then got alot of calls. People who had her called, asked about the reward, was it true...I went and got her, the collar without tags was on her, they didn't want the $100. but would take $50. for the food expense ect...I gave them $50., grabbed the dog and went home, I don't think they stole her, but they did end up with her, whoever stole her wanted to breed her, sell the pups. She was too young and the male dog they had in mind had been neutered so she wasn't worth much to them. If the people who ended up with her had taken the whole $100. I would have gone to the police. Anyway, we fenced in the yard and got another dog for the husky to play with and thats that. You need to fix an outdoor cat enclosure of some kind for your cat as I can almost promise you these people will get him again if he is loose and not supervised. just4cats.com has pictures of enclosures you build, you could downsize one. You are extremely lucky to have found your cat. Don't let your guard down. If these people would make a good pet owner you could always tell them to adopt one. donna
