A vet suggested honeybunny be given metcam for her hurt leg. Trying to keep her off monthly cortisone shots. She isn't quite a year old. I can't seem to find info on metcam. I'm hoping its like a natural supplement for help with arthritis etc...my cat will get from her injury. Donna

Thank goodness!!! I could just about cry, reading something GOOD about her medicine. I could find nothing on-line and didn't really pin down the vet for alot of details. Honey bunny is on .20 on the dropper (I believe thats what it is, don't worry, the dosage is marked for me). Just a small amount, once a day. He wants to see her in 6 weeks or sooner if needed. I just needed another opinion and the first vets didn't have her on anything for the arthritis other than a monthly cortisone shot-we want to avoid. My dog is on synovi G3 for her hip dysp./arthritis and its worked wonders so far. She's been on it since 10 mos. old and she just turned two. I knew you'd come through for me on some info!!! Donna

That sounds about right if they are having you use it every day.

Honeybunny is not large except that she is bottom heavy-pear shaped. Even the vets couldn't get over all the fat she had there. I sure hope the metcam helps her. This is another example of what I have run into around here, different vets being great in certain areas and not so great in other areas. Its a hit and miss kind of thing, guess thats why if I have any doubts I do go ask the other vet for his opinion. Do you know if she can take this metcam long term? Casey, my dog, takes her supplement every day and will cont. to. Again thanks for the help, I feel alot better now. Donna
