Hi Everyone,

DH and I brought home our fourth cat one week ago (I'm officially shut off from any more.) Misha is a 3-4 year old Siamese/Bobtail mix. Someone left her on the doorstep of the shelter that I volunteer with.

We were discussing soft and hard introductions when I picked Misha up. The shelter manager suggested I keep her in the crate for a little while and see how everyone reacted. I let her stay there for about an hour. Everyone checked each other out and there were no ill reactions. Basically everyone is getting along well. Misha and our dog just adore each other. My 16 yr. old, Kahlua, has ignored her for the most part with a few hisses as expected. My 5 yr. old, Amber, is very shy and we can tell they both want to be friends. My 3 yr. old, Liberty (who is deaf), has been chasing her and smacking her. She's not at her constantly and I'm sure it will work out in time. My question being should I intercept when I see Liberty getting ready to "attack" or let them get it out of their system? There have been no serious battles.

I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have.

Thanks, Renee'

Congrats!! I would just supervise and watch so you can break them up if they get to bad!

That's wonderful that you adopted Misha.
