Just to get you all up to date, my husband works with a guy who said they wanted to get rid of their ok. His name is Mooshe. Ok, have NO clue how to spell his name, but it's just how it looks. Moo like the sound

I'm glad that you understand that this kitty needs more than what he's getting in his current home. But I want to encourage you to read the cat information provided here on ivillage. Cats need to go through a special introduction procedure to reduce the likelihood of stress and fights between the new cat and cats already in the household. I wouldn't bring the cat to your home until you can take him for good because cats are creatures of habit and do not like change. It would be very stressful on him to be put in a new home for just one day and especially with strangers. I know he was very friendly with you, but you were in HIS home. It'll be entirely different when he's in YOUR home. You'll get good/better info from other people on this board, but the Think like a Cat board is really good as well. You'll get really good info and advice from both boards.

Oh yes, I'm very familiar with introducing kitties. I had two kittens in my house a couple of years ago and they have since passed from FeLV. I just dread it that's all!

I didn't mean to be redundant or offend you or anything. LOL Ya just never know when it comes to message boards what the poster will already know and what he/she won't. When I read your post, I was picturing the poor kitty freaking out and shooting like a bullet under the nearest couch, bed, cabinet, whatever when you brought him to your home and I didn't want that to happen. ;-)

Well, you know sometimes it does take time for the kitty to adjust. I'm sure it will work out, have patience though and relax. I also wouldn't bring the kitty home unless its for good, not a visit. Donna

Why thank you :) I took a little class online and I learned the basics, so it's not too difficult.
