Hi, my name is Jedi and I have two cats (or kittens) one is Neko and she is around 10 months old, the other's name is Yameru and she is around 3 months old. I have had Yameru since she was only around 1-2 weeks old, so they have been together for almost 3 months. Like anyother cats, they play, and sometimes Yameru plays alittle too much and Neko has to show her who is boss. All has been well in our house until about two weeks ago and especially the last two days! They have always used their litter box we have had no problems, except with Neko when we left my SIL to watch her while we were on vacation. My SIL kept her locked up in my ds room the whole week with out a litter box, so when we got home that room was so gross, I have never gotten all of the smell out of there, so everyday I have to go spray the pet neutrizier spray in there. Anyways now one or both of my cats are pooping and peeing all over the house! I don't understand why, their litter box is fine and neither one of them have had any trauma. I and my dh suspect it is Neko because we frequently see Yameru going in and using the litter box. I can not handle it anymore, I am going nuts! This morning at 6:00 my dh hit his breaking point when he went to get out of bed and stepped in cat poop right at the side of our bed! They or one of them has soiled every pile of clothes, pile of blankets, everything in our house is full of cat stuff. My two sons laundry piles are full, the laundry in the bathroom, the clean clothes that I just folded in the bedroom, our stack of blanket I just took out for the cold weather. I just started another load of laundry and found two fresh piles of cat poo in the same place I just did laundry from last night, and then upset I went into the bathroom to dispose of it and there is another fresh pile right in the middle of the bathroom!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is going on???? I have had cats all of my life and I have never had to deal with this!!!!!!!! I don't understand, and it is not healthy for my family to be breathing in this stuff constantly. What do I do???? What is the problem??? The only new thing that has come up is the Neko has been in heat really bad and I have been waiting for dh's paycheck to get her fixed, but would that make her do this?? It is literally EVERYWHERE! I am too the point where I am just going to stop washing stuff and start throwing it away, it is too much to handle and doing one load at a time just gives them or her more chances to poop in the rest of the laundry!! PLEASE HELP ME! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks in Advance!!!!

Boy I have no idea but there are others that will post that will have some. WHY was she put in a room with no litter box, that seems very cruel. This could very well be the cause of all this, she was so shocked,to not have her bathroom. There are some links at the top that may help you also!

Thank you for posting! The incident when she was locked in the room took place way back in May, so I never really thought of it as being the problem, since this just developed. If we had know that my SIL would do that to our animals then we would have never left her to watch them and our house (at the same time she killed our beta, our frog, didn't feed our dogs, stole my wedding ring, and forged a check and stole money out of our bank, so she is turned out to really be a witch) Anyways, I am looking forward to resolving this problem. I love my cats, so getting rid of them isn't an option and that wouldn't slove the problem!

Thanks again

My kitten went into heat (earlier than I expected) during the hurricane weather, anyway, she peed on any pile of clothes, bathrugs and backed up to the couch and sprayed. Was in heat less than a week, and has been fine (no accidents) ever since. I don't think this is your cats problem. Usually if a cat pees outside the litter box, or poopoos, it would be because of sickness or multi cat households where the cat doesn't like sharing a litter box. Good luck. donna

Thanks for the advice! I talked to the vet and he asked me if we had switched litter. I hadn't thought of this, but indeed we did switch from scoopable to clay a couple of weeks ago. My dh bought clay because he liked the price and the big bag, he didn't relize that it was different and usually I buy the litter so we had been using it. So the vet said to switch back and see if that fixes the problem. Also when I am at the store today I will be buying another litter box so each will have one of their own! Thanks again!
