New problem with older cat now....

OK so the little guy is doing great. Vet said he is just fine, has everything in order. Cut his little nails and made sure his first check up went well. I did as many of you told me and took a few mins at a time building the time together for new kitten and older cat. I have the kittens dish and litter box in my room and keep the kitten in there when I am not at home or can't keep an eye on how they are playing. Yes they do seem to be playing but then the bigger cat gets kind of mean, or maybe just a bit to tough for the little guy and I have to shoo him off the baby. I kept the little guy in a room with me for an hour yesterday as the big guy looked in the window and cried to get in. I felt mean but the kitten enjoyed his time with me and my dh. Now here is the latest big upset. The big guy got into my bedroom and climed up on the bed where the little guy sleeps with me, and you got it he wet on my bed. Not once but twice now. The first time happened a day after I got the kitten. That was two weeks ago and yesterday when the door to my room was open, and not for long the big guy came in and did it again. I know it is not the kitten because of the size of the wet spot. I think it is a marking thing going on with the big guy, but how do I stop it? What can I do. My dh does not want the big cat any place near the little guy now and he is very upset. I tried to explain that this will stop, and maybe not happen again. Just to keep the door shut. When the two get to spend more time together I think all will be well but the little guy is just over a pound in size and for now I have to keep the two apart most of the time. I will be going home to wash the feather comforter and cover for second time today...not easy but not the end of the world either. I love my kitten, he is such a cuddle cat, and he loves me, I love his purr o matic as I call it, he acts a bit like a puppy when I come home from work in the early afternoon and runs to me. I can't explain it but I am just so a peace now I have him. I pay attention to the big guy too, don't get me wrong, I know he needs love and his mom and dad and my grandson love on him also. Diann

Hi Diann. It sounds like your older kitty is still upset about the kitten. One thing, I don't think I'd shoo the older kitty off of the baby. I'd get a squirt gun or make a loud noise to stop him or grab a fishing pole type toy to distract him. That way he doesn't know it's you shooing him.
It may take a few months for the kitties to get along, so just hang in there and keep working with them.
Please also take the big guy to the vet to get checked out...the stress of the kitten could cause an underlying condition, such as a urinary tract infection, to surface.
