New puppy--furious cat!

We have a new puppy at our home now, and our 3 year old cat is furious! She has now resorted to pooping on our bed and she charges and hisses at the puppy several times a day when she is in the same room. She is so sad and mad....I'm afraid she will never get used to the dog and continue her acting out. Any suggestions? She has never had any litter box problems until the puppy arrived....will this continue?

Congrats on the new puppy!! Cats are very, very picky about who is allowed in their household and a lot of cats do NOT welcome new animals. Since it is a puppy, the cat might get used to it being around faster than another cat. I say give it a week or two of close monitoring. After a week, you should start seeing a little difference in attitude. If there is no change at all within two weeks, I'm sorry to say, the new addition might have to go.
