Is it normal for Lilly to be sneezing ALOT? What does it mean? Is she fighting off the infection or is it getting worse?

Hmmm, I would think that sneezing is a good thing since she has the URI. It's getting all that gunk out of her respiratory system. Be sure to keep a vaporizor or humidifier in the same room with her as much as possible. It will help loosen the congestion.

Keep us updated on how she's doing.

Hugs,

Hello Leslie!

Thanks for your input on my situation with Lilly. We were given instructions on how to care for her and one of the things they suggested was a vaporizer and I've been using that in the room with her constantly. She hasn't been eating much today. I hope she will eat a little soon. I hope we don't have to take her back. I will let you know how she's doing in a few days. Take care! *hugs*

Michelle,

I am sure that if you are following the directions of your vet and giving Lilly her meds, she will be fine. I think that sneezing is going to be the natural result for Lilly to get rid of the phlegm and congestion that she has. Give her lots of love and care, and certainly her meds and she will be fine.

If memory serves, you have also posted about adopting an *unwanted* kitten. May I suggest that you do not expose a kitten to Lilly's URI. Lilly contracted this from the shelter, and she could easily give it to your other cats aswell as the new kitten... I could be wrong, but please be careful.

All the best,

Hi Sammy!

I've been following all the directions given to me by the vet. I've been giving her lots of love and her medicine as directed. Yes I did post that message. I am not exposing any of my cats to Lilly's URI, they are seperated from Lilly and when I'm visiting Lilly I make sure to wash my hands before touching my other kitties and change my clothes. I'm being very careful.

When I first brought home Azzi and Butters they both had shelter colds (or URI's). Sneezes everywhere! It started milder, then got worse, then got better. Took about 2 weeks for them to stop sneezing. But, as a result, they both also ended up with a round of eye infections. About a month after I got them, they were both finally healthy :) Good luck!

Thank You so much! Lilly seems to be feeling alot better. I'm still giving her medication as directed and using a warm air vaporizer in the room at all times. I hope she doesn't get a eye infection. She sneezed alot and often gives me *showers*. Ugh! You gotta love her to let her to do that! *LOL*
