Now my Patches is sick....

I got home from work and noticed Patches having symptoms very similar to what Boots had last September. She's trying to meow but has no voice, and she's ocassionally getting the dry heaves. I'm thinking it's likely that Pharyngitis. My vets office was closed early so now I'm stuck probably taking her to an animal hospital so I can get her some antibiotics. Boots had taken Baytril for 10 days. I have about a week's worth of leftover Clavamox in the house, but I don't know if that works the same as Baytril for throat infections. I wish I could give her Clavamox until my vet's back in the office Friday, but I don't want to do something wrong. Do you think I should just take her to the hospital tonight and get her the Baytril? I'm afraid now that this must be contagious.....I pray Misha & Meezer & Thomie don't get it since Patches has been all over the house lately. I wonder if I need to keep her isolated maybe here in our bedroom where I can see if she's eating & drinking?

One day all my cats (hopefully) will be healthy!

Hugs,

Thanks you Leslie. I think she's enjoying sleeping up on our bed. She seems ok except for having no voice and she had a wheezing fit once. She is eating well, which is good. I am keeping Misha & Baby in a separate room. I'm looking forward to seeing what the vet says tomorrow.

I hope you are having a very Happy Thanksgiving! How's little Pumpkin enjoying her first one?

I think you're right. We must've caught this earlier since she's eating more than Boots had, and she isn't dry heaving as much as Boots had either. They took so long to diagnose Boots and that's why she got so sick before finally getting the antibiotics. Now I know when a kitty can't meow and seems nauseous that it could be pharyngitis.
