What do you think?

Remember the pink cat in the UK?

Her owner has been found, and the cat will be returned to her. But not before a stern dressing down from the RSPCA.

An RSPCA officer will be visiting the cat’s owner to offer welfare advice about the potential hazards and consequences of dyeing cats.

The owner, 22-year-old Natasha Gregory (who’s also a mother of two), said she dyed the white cat using food coloring so that the cat would match her own pink hair.

The cat was taken to the RSPCA by a concerned man who found it in his back yard.

Gregory said she got the idea to dye the cat, called Oi! Kitty, from a US television show where people did something similar to dogs.

She insisted that the food coloring did the animal no harm and said her sister, the cat’s original owner, had also dyed Oi! Kitty once.

She told a newspaper: “It’s my favorite color, I love it. I’ve dyed my hair pink and I adore pink clothes.

“Turning Oi! Kitty pink seemed like a good idea. I always wanted a pink animal – a bit like my hair.

“I read the instructions on the food coloring and there was nothing that would harm humans or animals. We eat the food the dye is used on, so I knew it wasn’t toxic.”

Gregory contacted the RSPCA after reading about the cat in the press and asked them to return the cat.

While Gregory insisted the cat was perfectly fine, an animal behavior expert told the British newspaper she objected to the dye job, which she said could cause agitation “like a red rag to a bull.”

What do you think? Just a harmless prank, or should Gregory be prohibited from owning pets?

I think it is unfair to the cat, but I don't see where harm was caused.
