Praying for murdered kitten

I am heartbroken to learn that an innocent 11 month old grey kitten was brutally murdered here in town over Halloween. Some horrible people dangled her over a pit bull and you can imagine what happened. There have been awards for more than $1,000 offered by the Humane Society, vets, and other enforcement agencies here for information leading to the arrest of the inhumane, cruel, murderers who heartlessly carried out this crime. I am praying for her to be safe at Rainbow Bridge. She is a true ^furangel^.

I make a small monthly contribution to my local SPCA. What with student loan payments, I wish it could be more, but every little bit helps. I like to think I'm at least buying them a couple of bags of food every month. :)

I've quickly been becoming quite an active spokesperson for pit bulls. With everything that's been in the media lately, and the recent ban proposed/passed in the province of Ontario, I feel like I have to do something. I used to own one, and it is unbelievable how misunderstood these animals are. I've sent letters to the government, and I want to create a website dedicated to educating people about these dogs. LOL - like I'm doing at this very moment, I stick my 2 cents in at every opportunity. :)

And people wonder why I like animals more than people. All I can say is evil people who do such cruel things to animals will get theirs in the end.

hi suzypenguin,

I posted about the incendent that happened to mine at the time. I think the post was "a sad story" or something like that.

In my case it was a 4yr old, whose parents didn't keep an eye on at all. He was turned loose to run the neighborhood, in the street, other people's yards, whatever. My daughter had been banned from playing with him, because he had done other things, like throwing rocks, sticks, glass bottles, whatever was handy, at cars, people, cats, whatever...

Once he stole two kitties off my back porch (closed in, with a door), he threw a beer bottle and sticks into the box the kittens were in. He was made to bring the babies back. That's the only time it seems anyone had a clue of what he was up to. He had been banned from my yard a while back.

Now, I have posted a no trespassing sign in my yard. His mother knows about it, and I rarely see the little boy out playing anymore. When I do, I make sure he's no where near my yard, and my little girl yells at him to go home. They seem to have a little better reign on him now. After I told him mother I would call the police next time I saw him in or near my yard.

I just don't get it, I really don't get it...

oh, and I brought the last kitten inside along with the older cat. They should be going to live with my brother today. I hope.
