The rough descent of the fairy queen

Saturday I witnessed something moving being flung out of a pickup truck window some distance ahead of me, and I pulled over to investigate what it was. Much to my dismay, there was a sweet mewing coming from the side of the road, and I found a tiny little kitten. We guess that she's no more than seven or eight weeks old. Besides being appalled at the manner in which she arrived in our lives, she is very.... cute (unfortunately for us, we're suckers!!). Anyway, kitty seems no worse for the wear, and an emergency call to the vet ruled out any major concerns.
Having "flown" here near Summer Solstice, and looking very much like the fairy queen (we thought), we considered the name "Titania" from Midsummer Night's Dream. We may still use "Titiania" for her majesty at formal functions, but we thought the shorter "Tanya" would suffice for now. (Tanya is Russian for Fairy Queen). Our other cats Ginger and Magic have decided she is their kitten (how nice of us to consider adoption, since they could have none of their own... being appropriately fixed!). They've both been grooming Tanya nonstop, and since Magic often gets tired of younger Ginger's antics, he's been glad to have a break from her. Ginger and Tanya have been having a ball.

We have been keeping her this weekend as sort of a "trial," as we hadn't anticipated expanding our kitty family any further anytime soon.... but we're finding we're getting rather attached to this cute little one. As I'm typing this she's curled up, purring in my lap. Sweet little brown tabby baby.

my story of how my cat's beginnings is also bad. someone decided that they didn't want daisy when she was a kitty. so they put her in a random flatbed truck. the man was driving home one day from work and he saw what he thought was a black bag hanging off his truck. he kept driving thinking it would just break away. when it didn't he pulled over and saw that it wasn't a bag but a black baby kitten holding onto the truck for dear life. this man turned out to be a friend of my family and since neither him nor his sister-in-law couldn't keep the kitty they asked us if we wanted her.
so your story touches me deeply because someone abandoned daisy because they didn't want her either.
