Lol - that is too cute! My old dog used to just looove being on the stairs whenever I was, and I knew one day he would either be kicked, or I would trip. Both happend a few times (luckily I never fell to my death, as I am sitting here typing this today)!
You mentioning Badness walking outside the railing reminded me of something. When my sister and I were kids, our mom would sometimes take us over to this lady's house, who had like 5 or 6 cats (one of the best cats I ever had came from a litter of one of these very cats). My sister and I would each pick a cat and balance them on the railing, and then make them slide all the way down (while we held them). This was a game, to both us and the cats! I can't believe they let us do it. We're lucky we didn't get our faces clawed off! *sigh* The things you do when you're a child.
that is too cute.. Alixx greets me at the door on the 3rd to last step EVERY night.. he too loves the steps... he chases his mice down them or sometimes he gets to the bottom landing and just peeks over the step up to the top and he looks like a "kitty crocodile".. he is so cute...

You've just reminded me of something my gorgeous, tortiose-shell-and-white (I believe they're called 'calicos' in the US?) cat Jemima used to do. I was only about 10 years old at the time, so this is a distant memory from more than 20 years ago....!
Jemima was mad about gently carrying things around in her mouth. Her favourite pastime ever was for someone to drop a glass marble down the stairs so that it would bump off every stair until it reached the bottom, then she would race down after it, pick it up in her mouth and drop the marble at your feet so that you could repeat the whole process again. We would tire of this game before she ever did. :o) I also remember that she used to pick up hazelnuts (among other things, including cat food) and drop them into our shoes(!) for safekeeping... My mum's Siamese cat also used to play fetch with screwed up balls of newspaper.
Jemima also used to love ripping up newspapers and magazines - you couldn't leave any lying around. She'd hold a page down with one paw and grab the other side of the page with her teeth and tear it in half! For some reason, all of the cats we had when I was a child that chose me as their 'favourite' were all quite naughty and very stubborn. That includes my current cat, Lola, who chose me to be her 'owner' when I visited the rescue shelter nearly 14 years ago. Lola is the most extrovert cat I have ever known. :o)
Thanks for bringing that memory back so vividly. :o)
