So I'm back but not with bad news...

I might be moving out of my mom's house this summer. If I do so, I'll be bringing Amber to live with me. My family thinks she's going to freak out and relieve herself all over the place since she's an outdoor cat. But I can honestly say Amber would prefer to stay inside. When I lived with my dad, I'd have her in for whole days (not evenings though) and all she did was sleep on the couch. So I'm not particularly worried about any behavioral problems. I think that as long as she knows that I'm around and/or coming back, she'll be fine. I have a sneaky suspicion she's going to plop herself on whatever she deems as "hers" and that's just going to be it. lol
I do have concerns though. Amber goes to the vet yearly for checkups and she's always been in excellent health. However, lots of people post about how their cats have UTI, etc. and I wonder how big of a problem this is in indoor cats. Will Amber be prone to them when I move in her indoors? Are some cats more prone to getting these types of infections than others? I'm trying to get as much info as possible so I can be prepared and take everything into consideration. Amber will be my responsibility solely. It won't be like now where my dad and I take care of her.
Also, I will most likely take Amber to a pet groomer to have her bathed and her claws trimmed. I'm totally opposed to declawing. Heck, I've lived with her razor sharp claws for 10 years already, I can pretty much handle it. But I don't want her shredding my furniture and stuff. Besides, she doesn't need razor sharp claws when she's inside. Anyways...what about the Soft Claws? How do these work exactly? If Amber doesn't like being messed with (ears cleaned, etc.) anyways, would it just be better and easier to take her to a professional and have her claws trimmed? I'm not sure if the bath is going to happen as that WILL NOT go over at all, but she's been outside for a long time and could probably use a bath before she comes inside. She's never had a bath before which is why I want a professional to do it.
If my cat doesn't like other cats or dogs, is that a clear indication that she wouldn't do well with another cat in the apartment? I'm thinking that she may need a friend, but if she doesn't "want" any friends, then there's nothing I can do about it. But I don't know how to tell. lol
Update on the male cat. No, he's not dead. I think our neighbor's finally took him or something cause apparently he hasn't been around. I asked my dad if he killed the cat and he emphatically said no. If I do see him around, I'm going to try to get him into the carrier and take him to a no kill shelter cause the last time I saw him, he was eating paper. I know it doesn't seem right that I take this cat to a shelter just because it's outside when my cat is an outdoor cat as well. But our neighbor's house caught on fire over Thanksgiving weekend and they aren't around to take care of him. They are doing repairs on the house and do come out to their house, but I'm not sure that he's being cared for since he's eating paper. At least, at the shelter, he'll be taken care of. A nearby neighbor works for animal control and I talked to my dad about calling him and taking the cat to the shelter. That would work to. This shelter is a no kill shelter. But hopefully the neighbor's have took him to wherever they are living at at the moment.

I think when you move out with Amber she will adjust just fine.
