Sunday with my Misha...

I was worried about giving Misha that anti-inflamatory steroidal medication which suppresses the immune system more that 3 days (Wed - Fri), so the vet said I didn't have to give it to her anymore. She thankfully is still eating & drinking, but not quite as much as when she took that medicine. The awful part was that last night she was terribly congested & I could hear each breath she took. It worried me this morning....she started to get a temp again over 104. I ended up calling the vet at home (which I didn't want to do but felt it was necessary). She said it's correct to continue not giving the steroidal medicine (as long as she keeps eating), and that I could just give her the decongestant nasal drops & a baby aspirin to help with congestion & fever. I don't know how much it's helped since I still hear all the gunk in her nose and see the stuff in her little eyes. The vet said this is just a nasty virus that'll take time to beat. It's so hard to see her have her ups & downs. I have 7 more days of antibiotic to give her and I hope by then she will be better. I have let her look out the window at the bird feeder as a distraction since I know she would love to get out of her room and investigate the rest of the house. I definitely don't want her getting her necessary shots until her immune system is strong again.
Thanks again for listening & praying. I may take her into the vets again tomorrow for more fluids if she doesn't drink enough.
Have a good night!
Suzy
