Thomie has Cat Acne!

The fun never ends in our household! LOL I called the vet today to report how Boots is doing so much better, and then asked why Thomie has a dark splotch on her chin that won't go away. She said she likely has cat acne....who knew? LOL I am supposed to use a Stridex (alcohol free) pad on her chin once a day for 10 days. I hope that helps. I am trying to be extra vigilant about making sure her food & water dishes are very clean since I suspect maybe that's how she got this? (Dh hadn't cleaned the water dish downstairs often enough....he would put fresh water in each day, but that's it. I scolded him about it. I guess I have to do everything myself. LOL)

Is this what you do to treat your kitties with acne at your vet practice, Cat?

Have a great Saturday everyone!

That's right....I only noticed on Thomie since her chin fur is white. She has to be wrapped in a towel (yowling all the way) for us to use the Stridex on her. She's such a Drama Queen! LOL

I remember when Tiger had it they shaved him a little and cleaned it and that was it. I would not worry about it!

ohhh poor kitty!

my cat pixie has "seasonal acne" as i call it (spring and fall)

stridex has alcohol in it, it may butn.... i use peroxide on a cotton ball, and if the pimplea are bad, i put a little neosporin on them..

also someone said not to use plastic dishes....

they were right plastic is a great breeding ground for bacteria. i use ceramic dishes, and pixie gets acne less often and less painful too

good luck.
