My mother applied for a job on the west coast in Santa Clara, CA this past week and we were talking alot this weekend if she gets it. My big concern is Little Boy. I can't leave without him because he is a part of me and my mom told me I might have to leave him behind. I was in tears when she told me this because we (little boy and I) are attached at the hip. My question is it is a 6 hour flight from where I live is there something that I can give him to sleep for those 6 hours if such thing happened?

I flew with Tillie when she was about 9 months old. I bought one of the soft-sided carriers (best investment I ever made!) that fit under the airline seats. It cost me extra to take her in the cabin with me but the cargo hold was not an option for me and I would not recommend it for ANY animal. From the time we left our house until we arrived at our destination, it was about 9 hours with two changes of planes. I did not give her anything to eat or drink after midnight before we had our trip. She did great - no sedatives, and not a meow out of her until we were sitting at our end destination waiting for them to let us off the plane!

Good luck and I hope you get to take your kittie with you!
