Unexpected Behavior

I have two cats, one six and one who is four. The four year old constantly is trying to clean around the litter box in the bathroom, cleaning the walls and the tub to excess. this past weekend I had used a cleanser to clean my kitchen floor and bathroom floor...also (bear with me) i had read online how to remove mildew from a leather jacket with a 50/50 mix of water and rubbing alcohol. In the past few days this cat has been "cleaning" the floor and runs into the bathroom to pee every time i walk in there and then starts cleaning like crazy. He also jumped on my jacket that was on a chair and tried cleaning that too. Then later i looked over and he was in a squatting position just starting to pee on the jacket, so I reprimanded him and moved my jacket. Later on I looked and he was on the wooden chair that i had wiped down with this disinfectant just incase he got some on it... and he was in the process of peeing on the chair again. Could something be wrong emotionally for him to be doing this or could he be thinking that the disinfectant smell is similar to the ammonia being given off from the urine in his litter box? Help, I'm worried.

Thanks you both for your advice! I will bring Hobbes to the vet but he has been good since i removed my coat from the room and am looking for some sort of leather creme to soften it and take the harsh odor from the jacket. I left the coat out one more time and he went right to it, so I'm guessing it could be that as well as being OCD. I'll let you know what my vet tells me.

Hi! I just wanted to thank you for your advice and I learned a valuable lesson...I didn't jump on the opportunity to take Hobbes to the vet immediately because i wanted to see if his behavior would change at all (for the better or worse) due to holiday finances and everything. And then i noticed he wasn't going at all, maybe just a drop, and so i decided to take him in since he was wimpering and meowing (which he never did in the four years i've had him) and so i set up an appt. and then went to read on-line about it and it mentioned that a cat can die within 24-48 hours if they are truly blocked and Hobbes had been displaying symptoms for over a week!!! I panicked and ran out of work, drove 30 miles home and brought him straight to the vet, who saw him the minute he got out of surgery. Turns out he wasn't blocked (thank GOD) and was given some special food and because his bladder is so small that i'd have to bring him by one day for observation and a urine sample, which i dropped him off yesterday morning and picked him up last night and low and behold he DID have a UTI and i've got two weeks of antibiotics to give him. My new problem, however, was that when i brought him back, my other cat, whom I've had for two years longer than Hobbes was FURIOUS that he came back! He was hissing, swatting, growling at Hobbes AND ME! I don't know whether he thought it was going to be like the old days of just me and him or he thought I left him behind...he's very jealous and wants to be on my lap at all times. He did manage to fall asleep on my lap after a laborious scene but woke up and looked as though he had this sudden realization that it wasn't a dream after all and had the look of disdain. He clawed me to the point of tears.. They both slept on my bed last night but not snuggly like they normally do. I hope they'll be back to grooming eachother in no time. Is this unusual?
