I think some of you know that I am lucky that my vet is mobile - she comes to the house. :)
Last night was Mozart, Spud and Junior's scheduled exams/vaccinations. Junior is off the hook. I am to the point where I can get within about 3 feet of him and really don't want to screw that up. He doesn't go out and so I talked to the vet and we agreed to skip him this year. He may be an every other year event.
Spud was uncooperative.....I grabbed him and he grabbed me back. My left hand hard his scruff and his one paw was dug all the way into my right arm. Even the vet flinched. The tech grabbed a towel and we wrapped him up and put him in the bathroom. Of course, he managed to escape when they went to go in there with him so they had to catch him in the 2nd bedroom.
Mozart was his snarky self. It baffles me that he is normally so friendly and is just a bastard with the vet. And it has only really been the last couple of years - he did start out ok. And unlike Spud and Ivy who moan and complain, Mo tries to turn himself inside out and bite.
Maestro was checked out as well....standard old man check up. Weight about the same (yeah!) and otherwise good. She drew blood just to keep a check on him - his kidney values were a little high a year ago and we need to keep a check on it. Plus, the other night he was on the arm of the chair and I thought I felt a lump near the base of his tail. Couldn't find it last night...then it dawned on me- it was his hip bone. duh....
Ivy hissed at the vet just in case. Gotta make sure she got in the last word.
And, Silver officially weighs: 1 pound. :)
