Went to the vet

Tuesday night (after I posted here) I came home and found everything where it had been, there was no destruction. You wouldn't believe Belle was the same kitten I was telling you all about. I don't know if it was the time out she got that morning or that she sat on me while I cried and we had a little "talk", but things were good.
I found a new vet for them and took them both in on Wednesday morning, it's actually a cat clinic. As soon as the staff saw Boots and Belle, they knew them, it's their original vet. Belle doesn't have a urinary tract infection, according to the vet, she has always been like that. He did test her to be on the safe side. She's just a little bratty at times, but we do love her. He gave me some history on the cats that their other owner didn't tell us, even though we asked. Boots and Belle were both of the same litter and abandoned by their Mom. Boots was the runt of the litter and Belle who was also small and got picked on would pick on him because she could. Boots has almost died a few times due to respiratory infections, reaction to anesthesia. He also gets quite a bit of eye and ear infections, something the other owner as I said, didn't mention to us. We still would have taken them, it just would've been nice to not have been lied to.
That's not all we were lied to about. The other owners gave my husband a sob story about how they can't keep them because the wife has cancer and can't have the litter box around. My husband who is allergic to cats but still has a soft spot for them, thought we should take them and we'd just make sure we clean good and keep one room for him away from the cats. Well, I learn from the vet and from one of our other neighbors that they just wanted to get rid of them because of how Belle is and they like little kittens, not when they grow up. And on top of it, they were just in with 3 new kittens!
Anyway, for the time being there is peace once again in our home. The vet was so very helpful and understanding, I really trust and like him. We did try seperating the two but one laid at one side of the door while the other laid on the other side and you could hear them crying. Then a little paw came out under the door and the other one put his paw on hers. It was cute and touching. They do seem to love one another, it's sibling rivalry. According to the vet I shouldn't worry about Boots because one day Belle is going to tick him off enough that he's going to get her back.
We aren't using the water bottles. We only did because that's what we were told to do. I didn't know because I only grew up with dogs and a horse. Instead, we're using a can full of pennies to shake when they get up on the counter. I don't think we're going to be having that problem with Belle anytime soon. She's fascinated with the kitchen sink for some reason. Yesterday afternoon as I was soaking dishes, she jumped up and into the water. I don't know who was more surprised, her or me. She took off so fast. I felt bad, so I got a towel and dried her off and cuddled her. I'm noticing that she gets very concerned if I'm away too long in a closed off room. She's right at the door. Boots, is more like, "Whatever". I also have a little touch of morning sickness and she's right beside me in the bathroom purring up against me, then right on my lap with her head on my stomach purring when we go back and sit on the couch.
Thanks once again.
Kim :-)

I'm glad you found a more compassionate vet that could help you. That's great news.
As I have discovered with my cats, they go through phases, just like I've heard kids do (maybe B&B are just preparing you for mommyhood). Of course you have to deal with the phase, but then you can move on and enjoy your kitties.
Sending all my best wishes to you and your family.
