When your cats lie on your lap,

do they curl up, or lie straight out between your thighs? How tall are you? LOL. All my life, all my cats have curled up on my lap. Recently it occurred to me that when Daisy lies in some other people's laps, she stretches out straight. I finally figured out that it's because I'm so short! (5'). My thighs are too short for her to stretch out. But on taller people, she can. How about yours?

LOL. She IS a snuggler! My Daisy is a little bit like that. Moxie will only lie on me if it's cold.

Generally they curl up (especially Meezer), but Patches, who's so big, will just put the front paws up on my lap. When we're in bed with legs stretched out then (especially Boots) will stretch out the length of my legs. LOL I'm 5'7" and dh is 6'3" but they seem to do the same with both of us.

I have four cats, and each one of them behave differently when it comes to laps. One male is a true lap cat who will curl up, or stretch out on anyone's lap, as long as you are petting him. The other male is a little more reserved. He will get up on your lap, and if he is totally 100% secure with you, then he will set for a spell, and maybe lie down and fall asleep. Then we have 2 females who are not lap cats. They love to be pet, and groomed, but they do not like laps. I can pick up one of them, and put her on my lap, and she will put up with it for a while, but the other one is a Norweigan Forest Cat, and she, in her breed, is naturally not a lap cat. She trusts me to put her on my lap, but she will jump down immediately. Each individual cat is different when it comes to laps. Some in their breed. Some, it comes down to a sense of trust. Myself, having four cats, they keep each other company, so much of the time, they don't look for a lap, but when they do, we are here. :)

LOL! When I did that "What Breed of Cat Are You?" test, I was a Norwegian Forest cat. I had never heard of them. The pic in the test was pretty. I think long-hairs are so pretty, but I'm such a lazy housecleaner that it wouldn't make sense for me to have a long-hair.

Are they chinchillas that you have in your avatar photos? How big are they? How do they get along w/your cats? What are their names?

It's so funny that you would post this - I always wondered why Tasha likes to stretch out on DBF's thighs and not mine! May have something to do with the fact that he is 6'1", and I'm only 5'4". With me, she either curls up, or lies across my lap on her stomach with her front paws tucked under, head upright.

When I am sitting at the computer, she will sit on the floor and meow at me until I back up a bit and give her room to jump in my lap - LOL! Then she lies in the across position, with her face turned up to me, eyes closed, and purring! She's so cute. :)

Daisy used to try to get in my lap when i was on th puter. But i didn't like it, 'cause I have a low platform for my keyboard, & the keyboard is only a few inches above my lap. So she was in the way. So I never let her up. She's given up now & doesn''t even come in the room when I'm on the puter.

Sorry I missed this post until now! To answer your questions, I do have the 3 chins on my avatar and also on my siggy. They are about the size of a guinea pig I think. The cats get along fine with them. They are afraid of messing with them because the chins will nip their noses if they try! LMBO! We have two females, one grey chin is Chloe and the other chin is Cocoa (to match her color). Our male is Gandalf the Grey.
