Why am I such a bad mama?

I had posted several days back about a feral kitty that I was trying to train and socialize. I had mentioned that her foot was hurt and thought that one of my other cats had done it. Well, I took her to the vet today and they did an Xray on her hip. She said that she lad lost all muscle tone in the hip and that her knee was broken at some point. Or she said that she has bone cancer but she really didn't think that was it. She advised taking the entire leg off. I can't just say because I don't have the money to put her to sleep. I've really grown attached to her and trying really hard to socialize her. What should I do? I'm going tomorrow I hope to get a second opinion to what it is. I really feel so bad for her. I just hurt for her. My conscience is really killing me.

You're not a bad mama at all. It's hard to tell what's going on with cats sometimes, especially feral cats.

Most vets are good about payment plans..I am on one. I think they, with their love of animals, would not be good vets if they did not allow this. Bless your heart!

I am so new here so i didnt see your post about this kitty except this one just now, but please dont think this is your fault :) it is not! please remember to breathe and try finding a local shelter that will donate $$ to cover the bill, a second opinion was my first thought, but youve already covered that ! I pray you find help for this kitty ! How much is the surgery ?? if you dont mind me asking , my Kosmo (long haired beauty kitten that was left in my apartment building INFESTED with fleas) needed to be checked up and neutered and I had no$$ no job to do it but I couldnt see leaving him in a shelter since he became attached to me (and me him) and was finally in a warm home, Anyways, I called a local shelter ( who had no room for anymore cats) and they donated $100 and I paid the rest :) Good luck to you !
