Worried about my kitty...

Hi, new to the board and very concerned about my kitty. She is a little over a year old and has always been the PERFECT cat. She even "talks" to us. We are a young couple who recently had a baby, and so for a long time it was just her and us. My husband was laid off right before the baby, so as soon as our lease was up, we had to move in with my parents. So not only did she have a new person to deal with, but a new home, new people, not to mention the three additional cats my parents have. Well, she has always been an indoor pet, and I was afraid she might get out, so I bought her a nice collar. I made sure it wasn't too tight...but after it had been on about 4-5 days, I took it off to just give her a good scratching...and all of her fur underneath was gone. (She's a short hair black kitty, so it looked awful with her white skin.) Plus she had a sore underneath. I kept the collar off, but the sore began to get infected, and she kept scratching it. Then two more sores showed up, one on each cheek. She will not leave these alone AT ALL. They are getting bigger and bigger, taking up her whole cheek on each side and they stay bloody. We took her to the vet and he gave us some antibiotics and gave her a steroid shot to help the itching. It didn't help. We bought one of those collars to help her leave it alone, but she is like HOudini, and we can't keep it on her. Could this all be stress related? What can we do to help her heal these sores. I am very worried. Thanks in advance!
