we have never been on a vacation with the kids. We have gone to the lakes and things like that but never a real vacation. Well my sil wants us to go to Minneapolis this spring and go to Valley fair and the Zoo(awesome zoo) ete ete. I never have gone as hate and do not trust anyone to watch my pets and would WORRY the whole time! Well I am thinking there are a lot of pet services in town where you leave your pets at home and they come in so many times a day. One is owned by a girl I went to school with and she also works at our vets office. Do you think I would even beable to have any fun??

You should be here. I have to find someone to feed four dogs. Two they are kinda scared of. Over 15 cats. Eight are inside only. Four or five others stay out most of the day and sleep in at night. One comes in from the woods between 6pm and 10pm. You have to look out the side door for him. You then have to have someone know to bring the cats in at night, let only certain cats out the next morning because they won't use the litter box, don't want inside together all day. It is impossible to stay gone over 2 nights. Even then I am not 100% comfortable on my vacation (say one son stays home and tends to the cats). When I do a day trip I may call home if its late or rainy to make sure the cats are let inside. I don't even want to leave the yard if its going to be extra wet or cold because I work at home and the cats are use to me letting them in and out all day. I plan on working pt only when I close my d/care home business. I don't want to leave them alone 5 days a week. They are so dependent on us. I know of some dogs that have to go everywhere with their owner/family or they will freak out. It does get complicated. Do you have a friend who could stay in your house while you are gone? Donna

The few times that we have been gone overnight were kind of strange because there weren't any cats in bed with us. I couldn't sleep without hearing purring. lol

I'm in Alabama. 45 yrs. old, had d/c since mine were 1 and 5 yrs. old. They are 19 and 23 now. Probally will close within a year because I have too many animals and people don't like it. I am chosing the pets over parents. Donna

We only go off for a night or two because of the animals. I can't get use to going into the bathroom in a motel and not worrying if the t. seat is down. I've trained both sons and dh to keep the seat down at home, worried a cat would drown. Donna

Some of my parents do fine and realize their kids will grow up caring for animals. Others don't want one cat hair on their child, its the same parent that fusses if their child gets one mosq. bite on them here, but wants them outside and brings them in from a weekend at home with 20 mosq. bites. I've found alot of the mothers now don't want to stay home with their kids, even for one day. Some would let their garbage man keep the child as long as they don't have to. They also don't appreciate things you do, the money you spend on their child, say for holidays. Not all parents are this way, but I am seeing more of them and really don't care to deal with them. The difference in your daycare and mine is I now have 8 inside cats and more outside that come inside plus several dogs. Didn't have any pets way back when! Its good money though and you can stay home, wear jeans (i'm a levis girl) go outside whenever...do you do the state food reimbursement program? Its worth it. Donna

Yep I do the food program. My mom always says parents want these kids so they have a picture to show that they have them but then they spend most of there time at daycare
