The skunk was all the way up on a second story deck for some odd reason. There is no food up there.

Well I took her to PetsMart for a special de-skunking bath.

The one time Kimo got skunked the vet said to wash her face off really good with the hose & that's about all you could do...

The one thing we've found to help cover up bad smells a bit is a mixture of water & vanilla... can't remember the parts... it does help :)

IMO... regular bathing is too harsh... it takes time to smell okay again... not much you can do...

Oh gosh...how awful for your poor pup and you guys! Especially being sprayed in the face and eyes; besides being painful to her eyes,

Next time try washing her yourself. I have a skunk-loving dog, so I know it works! In a bucket, mix 1/4 cup dish soap, 1-2 cups vinegar, 1/2 bottle peroxide, 1/2 cup baking soda, water if you need it (all amounts are approximate as I can't remember the exact recipe). Give her a good scrubbing, let it set a couple minutes, rinse and repeat until all the soap mixture is used up (I went ahead and used the soap mixture on my dog's face with the rag but rinsed immediately and repeated). Sure, you'll smell a little skunky by bathing her yourself, but don't you already anyway? You'll save $50 too!

Manda :)
