Hi, new with a puppy soon

My daughter (12 years old) has been volunteering for the seeing eye for the blind since October and she is finally getting her own puppy to raise on June 25. She is so excited, but so am I. It will be an 8 week old male German shepherd pup. She will have it for a year and have to socialize it and teach it the commands it needs to know for its training. She has been watching pups for people who go on vacation so she has had a taste of what she needs to do. Can't wait. I will report back after June 25.
