Treats from out of the USA

UndecidedI keep seeing all these ads on t.v. telling us about the latest dog treats.  I didn't used to check the labels, I'll be honest, but now I just will not buy anything that does NOT say MADE in the USA.  Saying "distributed by XXX company in Denver" does not mean it's MADE here, many don't seem to say where they really are produced.  The Milo's Kitchen treats ads really get me steamed - they make it sound like Grandma just made them in her kitchen - the label says they come from China, as I recall, and from China - nothing comes thru our door, I don't want my dogs ingesting melamine, thanks.  I won"t get started on rawhide, it can kill your pet in more than one waym but it's banned here.

Think I might just spoil our two even more and make them some healthy treats for Xmas.  Anyone have some really simple recipes?  Hope all your furbabies get equally spoiled - they do love those cookies...and more cookies.

I haven't made these yet, but they look super simple. Let me know how they turn out if you try them!

Wink Oh, they love peanut butter, I think they all do.  Have to try those.

ONE of the Milo's treats appears to be made in the USA, by the way - one I'd never seen before, little soft balls and I did buy some.

Great picture!!  And I "love" Three Dog Bakery....I have a couple of recipes for treats that I tried a long time ago.

To be honest, Cleo just gets Milk Bones and dog cookies from Petco.  I guess I'm guilty of not knowing where the dog cookies come from; they're not packaged...they have a "display" with lots of different cookies that you purchase by the pound.  She only gets those once a week...the Milk Bones she gets every day as a treat.

Of course...the safest treats are those you make yourself....let us know how the furkids like them....
