I know the vet says hes got arthritis in his hips, so i've been giving him the aspirin, 1 a day at night, fish oil (but not exactly sure if its for the arthritis or his flakey skin) and Glocosamine with chodrotin? but my problem today is, he was fine lastnight at around 9ish when i took him out before we went out lastnight, we got home i took him out again and he was limping a little and not wanting to go potty, so we came back in and i went in the bathroom and seen my curtian rod on the floor so i figured he tried to get in the bathtub (he does that sometimes when we aren't home of if its thundering) went to bed and all he did was whimper all night, he got off the bed, layed on the floor for a min then got back on the bed..well about an hr ago dh took him out to go potty and noticed hes not wanting to put any pressure on his back left paw and hes still whimpering. So i gave him an aspirin (vet said he could have 2 every 12 hrs)..dh rubbed his paw, and looked at it, no cuts, no foreign objects etc.. if it continues gonna call the vet but just wanted to see what you ladies thought.

I've found that with Samantha she has her good days and bad days; sometimes she can barely walk and other times she does pretty well.
i will thanks laura.. when i got home from going shopping with a friend DH said he was doing fine, not whimpering and hes putting more pressure on it.. still gonna keep an eye on him though and until hes a little better gonna continue to give him the aspirin 3-4 times a day
I'm glad he's putting more pressure on it, that's a good sign. My guess is maybe he tried to climb into the bathtub and hurt himself during the attempt...either banged himself or fell. I'm sure the arthritis is a factor as well, but he may have aggravated it more with a mild injury. I hope he continues to improve!
he was better for a few
How's Browny doing now?
~~joannaran~~
Sorry Browny is hurting.
an update!! Hes doing much better now.. hes not whineing during the day. (until DH gets home lol almost seems like its a sympathy whine) and at night he don't whine either, all though this morning around 3 am we had a thunderstorm so he was pacing so i moved my pillow and layed down between the bed and wall he seems to feel safe there.
Thanks so much for the update...I'm so glad that Browny is doing better.
I swear that sometimes these dogs know how to get around us....with me Samantha will often get up on her own, walk around, eat....but with DH she'll have the pathetic face so that he feels sorry for her.
Just checking in... how has Browny been doing?
much better, thanks for asking:} not whineing, hardly limps.. mostly when he walks on rocks i think they hurt his pads but over all good
