Hi everyone...and I hope you all had a great holiday season.  I went to Brooklyn for Christmas to see my family...and New Year's was home.  I'm just so glad that things are back to normal again....I kept forgetting what day it was with the holidays in the middle of the week!!

What did you and your furkids do for Christmas and New Years?

Christmas was at BIL's --- New Year's was home. And during that time, we got hit with the coldest, snowiest weather in 20 years so, right now, we are housebound (level 3 snow emergency declared for the county which means one gets ticketed if caught out on the roads, which are VERY icy, if they are not emergency service personnel).

Lots of bird seed out for the feathered residents (and one very cold squirrel), as well as a heated bird bath, and the two black cats (Faith and Kathy) have been fascinated by the large number of doves which are foraging right by our back door (DH throws the seed out on top of the snow rather than wade through waist high snow to get to the feeder...). The brown cat (Dominic) is hibernating on my bed in a nest he makes of the blankets...

I'm staying in. Couldn't make my doctor's appointment becasue of the level three *and* because their office is closed due to weather. But we have food, drink, heat, power and water so we are AOK.  Hope to get in some stitching!

This has been bad....and I really feel for you.  At least you have heat and power....even if you can't go out.

It was really cold (for Williamsburg) on Tuesday.  When I left the house it was 10...and it only made it up to about 19 during the day.  This morning it was about 13 when I left the house, but then got steadily warmer...I think it got up to about 35 today....which is still cold.  But I'm from NY so I'm used to the really cold weather in the Winter...where most residents here are not.

Yesterday, and today, schools opened 2 hours later because of the cold...which I find funny.  When I was young there was no such thing...you bundled up and off you went.  When I was in High School I walked a couple of miles back and forth...and never thought a thing about it.

I had run out of birdseed over the weekend..and I took in my bird feeder to give it a good cleaning.  As soon as I put it out again filled the squirrels were out in full force....LOL....  I'm not sure what I'm going to do in the Spring...I have a metal bird feeder that has lost some paint...but the wooden ones just get destroyed by the squirrels.  I'll have to check out Home Depot and Lowe's for a new one.
