Laura has been very kind in getting a folder set up for us and I hope you repay the favor by posting away madly about all the wildlife you are seeing (or not seeing as the case may be)...
We are in a thaw and all the seed DH put out for birds is now being minded by squirrels. At least, that seed that isn't buried under a pile of icicles which dropped from our roof yesterday. Much to the delight of our cats who consider squirrels just outside their window the ultimate in HD Cat-TV!
Nothing unusual otherwise --- but during the worst of the cold, the resident robins who seem to subsist on crabapples in winter were joined by cedar waxwings. I looked out my bedroom window and there they were: RIGHT in front of me. I've heard them often, and seen them at a distance, but never seen them up close and personal before. But what I want to know is WHY are these birds migrating so early?
