Grandkids schools are closed until Monday

DD had to go pick up her kids yesterday at noon and they closed the grade, middle and high school.  The norovirus is going around and lots of kids were out sick with it. Peyton said 100 or more kids were out yesterday with it at his grade school.  That's about 1/2 of the kids in his school.  10 of the football players in the high school were out with it yesterday.  They have the big playoff game in Portland for the league championship on Saturday so I hope they will all be well to play.  A school in Roseburg was closed down before Thanksgiving because of that virus.  It makes me just want to stay home.

One of the workers came to work yesterday morning with it and was sent home.  I hope he didn't give that crud to every one there.  I have to go shopping this afternoon and get pet food and a few things.  I just hate to go anywhere in public, but the pets are needing food.  I was going to got to Walmart, but not going now.  I'll just do that later.  I have lots of hand sanitizer and will use it.

Mary, if I didn't need pet food I certainly wouldn't go to town today.  I think dh has a package of face masks for when he paints.  I would think they would be fine enough.  I hope the grandkids don't get that crud.  Brooke said a little boy puked in her classroom yesterday so that's a little concerning.

I don't remember the school ever being closed even when my kids went there.  Or even when i wnet to school.

Football has been over here too, but the boys have been in the state league playoffs for the past 4 games, so it's going longer than usual this year.  They are missing some basketball games being in the playoffs.

Oh wow I'm glad they closed the schools and probably should have done it sooner before that many got sick.  I hope the football players are feeling better for the big game on Sat.

I always try to shop at suppertime in the Christmas season when there are less people there.  I stay away from malls during the holiday season too.  What gifts I have to purchase I try to buy in the smaller stores.  Other than crowds driving me crazy at the best of times they also carry winter flu and sniffle bugs.

I don't blame you I wouldn't go to Walmart for a little while either and just pick up the pet food and head home.

YIKES!  That is scary.  I hope your grandkids don't get it.  I've seen folks wearing surgical masks around Kingston, especially in the larger stores.  This is the time for flues and viruses.  I suppose we all need to take precautions and closing the school is a good idea.

All the best.
