Aldi is a chain of grocery stores that we have around here n they are expanding to more n more states all the time.  They started here in Illinois, the main warehouse, office complex is here in Batavia.  It is about 10 min from my house.  The company originated in Germany.  I worked at the warehouse for 21 yrs.  That is where i'd like to get back in at, but the director didn't give me any definate answer weather he would hire me back or not.  He only said he would do what is best for the company.

The groceries are cheap, cheap, but alot of people don't like them as they don't have brand names, they are all off brands.  But what most people don't know is that the brand name companies make most of the food, like Heinz makes the catsup, campbells makes the soup, canfields makes the soda, and so forth.  Yrs ago they only had some of the household staples, but they have expanded n expanded till they have lots n lots things they never had.  Another thing is that havin their own brand, they don't carry 3 or 4 different brands of sauce, they have tomato sauce, but that is that, their brand, period.  They carry lots of things, but only their kind.

They also have what they call special purchase, once a week, every week it is different.  Special purchase is stuff that is not grocery stuff, like at christmas it is toys, candy, special things.  They had a bunch of exercise stuff for the beg of Jan, it goes with holidays, and things they think people want to buy.  They only get a certain set amount of whatever is special purchase that week, when it is gone, it is gone.

That is what an Aldi is.  When i worked there they had health ins on all of us n it didn't cost us a penny.  We also made VERY good money there, a good savings plan, and full retirement benefits.  We were not considered full-time either....sometimes you worked 20 hrs a week, sometimes 30, sometimes during busy times 40....  I have heard from a couple of my friends that worked there, that the benies have gone down, but i would still love to get back in there.

The job i applied for today is a floating cashier at their stores.  It starts at $13 an hour, so...we will see.

I'm praying that no news is good news too Jane.

It's still white here from the snow, but most has melted.  It's supposed to be only 39 today so we are about the same only it's going to stay cold the next few days.  Hope you get up to 50 tomorrow.

We are supposed to get rain here today and tomorrow.  It is to be in the 40's today and 50's tomorrow.  They say fog tonight because of the warm temps.

Didn't hear from the vet clinic yesterday so hopefully no news is good news.

That is nice and warm for you Mary.  I don't know how it can snow when it's 50.  lol Silly weatherman.

That's too bad that your grandson has that virus.  I hope he gets well soon.  It's a worry when the little ones are sick.   I hope the furkids have good check ups today and their ears are all nice and clear.  It sounds like a fun evening for you with dinner and a movie with your friends.

I will pray that you get the job.  It sounds like Lowes and Walgreens could be promising too if Aldis doesn't pan out.  It would be nice to just get the job and not have to apply for others though.  I doesn't hurt to put in applications as many places as you can.  You never know when something will come up.

I think our snow is over thank goodness.  I told it to go your way so I hope it will make it.  It seems like the Rocky Mountains always hog it though. lol  I'll be quiet so it won't get scared away.

Not much going on here today. Austin has a basketball game tonight that I hope we can go to.  Other than that just the same old stuff here.

We got rain last nite, it is warm right now about 50!!  Supposed to be cloudy today, there was fog earlier this am.  Tomorrow is supposed to be about 50 too and snow.....won't snow if it is that warm...will rain.

I hope you get your s....n....o....w.....(((((Chris))))))

I have my grandson today, it will take alot to watch him as he is sick right now, a virus of some sort.  He is on breathing treatments, so she's gonna show me how to do that when she comes.  The dogs have a vet appt at 2 to check ears again.  Then later today out with a couple of girlfriends for dinner n a movie.  We are gonna see guilt trip with Babs.

Went n applied for the job this am, i will be interested to see if i get called or not.  She said they were just accepting applications today n will call another day.  I sure hope i get it.  That would really thrill me.  Was lookin on the puter at Lowes n Walgreens n they both seem to have good benies, tho Lowes looks more promising.  May go put in an application at Lowes next week.
