Just back from the optometrist
11
Fri, 10-26-2012 - 2:29pm

My eyes are dilated so I will return later when I can see better.

No new prescription needed for glasses, no cataracts, no glaucoma, just severe dry eyes and problems with my oil glands.  He gave me a new eye drop to use and says it is the best out there for my problem.  It is called Systane balance.  He said from one blink my eyes dry up in 11 seconds so not good.

I was so happy I have no cataracts since both my older bros just had the surgery.

Be back later.

I've seen that at the store..  Haven't tried that one.
My doctor told me to use
GenTeal Lubricant Eye Drops, Moderate to Severe Dry Eye Relief ..   I did for awhile..but I'm cheap..and didn'y see a difference between that and Walgreens Natural Tears
   All and all...good report..  YaHoo

I have used that before,I hope it helps. I now use restasis..it seems to really help, you have to be on it for awhile before it starts working

It's great that you don't need a new script for glasses and it's wonderful that you have some new drops that will help.

I don't see my optometrist until next March.  Hopefully, I'll have good results too.  Last year when I saw him, my script hadn't changed, hopefully, I won't need a new one this year.

All the best,

Patrick

Sindee: These drops cost $13.95 for 28 vials with no preservatives. I find them better than the Natural Tears that I was using. They feel soothing to the eye whatever is in them. If you didn't see the difference then why pay the extra money and just buy the Walgreens.

Yes restasis is a prescription drug here and it takes awhile to work.

Yes I was quite happy.  I was kind of concerned about cataracts since my 2 bros just had surgery.  I guess I take after my mom as she didn't have them.

So far I like these drops as they feel more soothing.  I wasn't using them enough before so I have to try to remember to use them when I'm on the computer.

Patrick: I might get new glasses since my insurance pays for them. I would like to get a lighter pair. I had a titanium pair once that were really light in weight. I hope you get a good report in March too.
